News — Miami Tarpon Fishing

We headed out to the Miami government cut inlet just before dark for an evening of tarpon fishing .  we got treated to a Miami sunset over south beach the Tarpon bite lit up as the Neon blazed and the people in night clubs danced the night away. Tonight by request we had a mixed approach to the fishing. We used live Mullet and then planned after catching some Tarpon we would swap over to targeting Miami Tarpon on fly. Heading out for another father son FIRST Miami Fishing tarpon Trip. Just as the sun was going down over Haulover Park and the inlet we marked the first pod of Tarpon. We put out a spread of mullet to be slow trolled around the area and it didn’t take long before the mullet was getting harassed from below. The Tarpon had found our mullet and were starting to try to eat it and causing the water boiled as the tarpon missed each inhalation of the mullet. What a Miami Tarpon Fishing Trip to remember! We went 4-8 Tarpon with the biggest of the night tacking off so fast we had to go on plane to catch up!  We hooked several nice small Tarpon and a much larger fish that took us from the beach and through the inlet into the Turning Basin of the Port of Miami 

@fishthumb spent an afternoon with me getting his first peacock bass and 7 large mouth then we spent the evening chasing the silver king on fly. We found our fish as we went 1-4 The fight Was not easy and the fish went around several pilings channel markers as we moved the boat to avoid cut offs.
