I am pretty sure that this Snook "Snookzilla" will be a hard one to beat before the year is out here in Miami!
Fishing the annual Mullet run really gets the fish into an active feeding frenzy. We left out of Haulover inlet on the northern end of Miami Beach. We fished around the bridges and inlet, as huge schools of mullet washed out on the tide. Large Tarpon swirled and inhaled large amounts of Mullet as they showered out of the water.
Our hooked mullet did the trick and it wasn't long before we hooked up on the first drift. We then worked the area a little more and hooked into a nice Snook. We then went over to some docks lights and hooked a bunch of jacks and moon fish to round out the night on ultra light tackle.
the next few weeks should see the bite continue as the latest reports say mullet are headed down the beach from northern Palm Beach areas.
