I am bunching a handful of trips into one report !
Miami Tarpon Fishing report for the start of January
Its off to a great start and already the large migratory Tarpon have moved into the bay to the warmer waters ready for the annual shrimp hatch. These shrimp will be completing the maturation process by rising out of the sea grass inside Biscayne bay and floating out on the out going tides to mature out in the ocean.
Large predators like tarpon jacks and Snook will be in hot pursuit of this winter time delicacy.
Large tarpon have been caught early and late on any tide depending on the locations during the tides we have been using live bait and artificials in combination for multiple hooks ups. Some of the jumps have been absolutely spectacular and some of the largest fish are here already and in excess of 110lb -120lb
We have been fishing all over the bay and picked up a very nice 30 inch permit as probably one of the better surprise catches of the charter. The large jacks have started to be caught
The Tarpon bite will increase right through the spring before they head out to the keys for Islamorada for a few months before returning. February and March are filling in so make your reservations early. My reputation success and charters are going well and repeat business books early. I look forward to fishing with you on your next Miami Tarpon fishing and Snook fishing charter adventure.
